A plastic surgery website should do three jobs: help a prospective patient understand a procedure, trust the surgeon, and book a consultation easily on a phone. That means one page per procedure, a consented before-and-after gallery, clear surgeon credentials, fast mobile pages and privacy-safe tracking. Design matters, but structure and trust do the heavy lifting.
Plastic surgery website design is not about looking expensive. Most prospective patients research for weeks, compare several surgeons, and read your site on a phone. The sites that win consultations explain procedures clearly, prove the surgeon’s skill honestly, and make booking feel easy.
Start with one page per procedure
Each main procedure deserves its own page: who it suits, how the consultation works, recovery, risks in plain language, and the surgeon who performs it. Focused pages match the way people search (“tummy tuck recovery”, “breast augmentation consultation”) and give Google a clear page to rank. They also give you a clean destination for ads.
Build trust before you ask for the consult
- Surgeon credentials. List board certification and training accurately, in a way patients cannot misread.
- Before-and-after galleries. Use only consented patient photos, label the procedure, and avoid editing that changes the result.
- Real reviews. The FTC’s final rule banning fake reviews and testimonials makes bought or invented reviews a legal risk, not just a reputation risk.
Make booking work on a phone
Put a call button and a short consultation form on every procedure page. Answer calls fast, including after hours. Our booking engine and AI front desk are built so an interested patient at 9 p.m. still gets a response.
Speed, accessibility and technical basics
Heavy video headers and huge galleries slow pages down. Google measures responsiveness with Interaction to Next Paint, which we cover in our note on the INP Core Web Vital. Compress images, lazy-load galleries, and keep text readable on small screens.
Privacy-safe tracking
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has published guidance on online tracking technologies for HIPAA-regulated entities. Pixels on consultation forms or patient portals deserve a careful review. We build sites so analytics answer business questions without sending sensitive details to ad platforms. Have your compliance advisor confirm your setup.
Write for AI search the same way you write for people
Google’s guidance on AI features says there is nothing extra to do for AI Overviews or AI Mode beyond normal SEO, and it describes a “query fan-out” approach that pulls in related sub-questions. Procedure pages that answer the follow-up questions patients actually ask are well placed for both. More on that in our plastic surgery SEO guide.
What a rebuild with Prestige looks like
We design and build custom practice websites for surgical practices, connect them to Google Maps and AI search, and set up tracking you can trust. See our plastic surgery marketing page for the full approach.
Wondering if your current site is costing you consults? Check if your market is open or call (716) 400-0084. It is a free 15-minute call, and we only work with one practice per specialty in each market.

Frequently asked questions
How many pages does a plastic surgery website need?
Enough to give each main procedure its own page, plus surgeon bios, a gallery, financing or consultation information, and contact. A single long services page usually ranks and converts worse than focused procedure pages.
Are tracking pixels a problem on plastic surgery websites?
They can be. HHS guidance says tracking technologies on regulated entities' websites can involve protected health information in some situations. Review your analytics and ad pixels with your compliance advisor.
Can we post patient reviews and testimonials on the site?
Real reviews, shared with permission, are fine in general. The FTC's rule on fake reviews bans fake or bought reviews and testimonials, and some states have their own advertising rules. Never write or edit reviews for patients.
Does website design affect showing up in AI search answers?
Google says there are no special requirements for AI Overviews or AI Mode beyond being indexed and eligible for a snippet. Clear pages that answer real questions help with both regular search and AI features.
How long does a new practice website take?
It depends on how many procedure pages you need and how fast photos and approvals come in. We give a timeline after the free market check, not before.
